Vacation House Villa Scannagallo

Scannagallo is an ancient villa in the Valdichiana valley of Tuscany , very near to the major cities of art: Siena , Florence , Perugiia, Cortona and Assisi . The villa is surrounded by a park of olive-trees in which there is the swimming pool. This country house is situated on a hill that is covered by olive-trees and it is right next to Marciano della Chiana, a town that thanks to its castle and tower dominates the valley. Until few years ago the villa represented the heart of a wide farm, then, a recent and accurate restoration turned it into a comfortable holiday house, divided into six apartments. Villa Scannagallo is surrounded by a park where the many green wide spaces are furnished with garden pieces of furniture. The swimming pool of the park is among the flourishing foliage of the olive-trees and it is equipped with umbrellas and sun beds. The furniture of the apartments, which is comfortable, is high in quality and style. The apartments are all independent and each of them is equipped with its own kitchen, sitting room with chimney, bedrooms with bathroom and they are suited for 2/4/6/8 people

...Notes and Curiosity

The Paffetti family, owner of the Villa Scannagallo, has a long history in the territory and its presence is proved by many documents. The family's origins date back five centuries ago, and the Villa has ever been the heart of the agricultural farm of the family. Alessandro Paffetti, heir of the family, together with his wife Antonietta recently decided to restore the villa and to give it new life by turning it into an ideal place where to spend your holidays. There you can live completely immersed in the green of Tuscany , far from stress and traffic in order to enjoy endless moments of authentic relax. Mrs. Antonietta, the real soul of this restoration, will friendly receive you in her estate and together with her enthusiastic daughter-in-law Mrs. Barbara will be at your complete disposal for everything. At your arrival you will find hand-made pies to take refreshment after the journey. There will also be the possibility to taste and buy the extra-virgin olive oil produced by the farm and many other Antonietta's delicacies. Should you need information on what to visit, on cellars' visits, on spas, on walking tours, on how to go on an excursion by bicycle, or on any other sport, just ask the family and they will be glad to help you.

...How to reach us

From the south
If you arriving from the south by the motor-way A1 go out at the exit of “Valdichiana”. Follow the directions to Foiano della Chiana. Once you have reached it follow the directions to Pozzo and Lucignano. After passing Foiano the street will fork and you have to go to the right. After about three Km, after the town of Pozzo della Chiana you will find on the right side of the road the Villa Scannagallo.
From the north
If you are arriving from the north by the motor-way A1 go out at the exit of “Monte San Savino”. Turn right and follow the directions to Foiano della Chiana and Marciano. Afer two Km turn right towards Marciano, go over it and follow the directions to Pozzo and after about one Km, you will find on the left side of the road the Villa Scannaga
