Residence Borgo San Francesco

The 4-star residence Borgo San Francesco is a newly restored charming residence with a cluster of little villas (once farm houses) and private patios and gardens that have an exclusive feel to them. There is also a pool conveniently situated where the sun always shines and a charming restaurant with floor to ceiling windows that greatly enhance the eating experience. Our restaurant is committed to making sure you experience the full plethora of Sicilian foods and wine, serving above all, country- style local dishes. We specialize in the essence of traditional, local cuisine using only the freshest products sometimes grown only a few km from the Borgo. While being immersed in this enveloping atmosphere, one is also in close proximity to the charming seaside town of Gioiosa Marea (only 4 km away, of mostly straight roads) and can conveniently visit other areas of Sicily while using our Borgo as a base for planning trips, as well as a calm, serene place to return to. There is also a common room with a fireplace and reading area with many books and maps on the area and the island on whole.
We offer a wide range of villa-style independent apartments. The studio apartment (approx. 20 sq.mt, max 2 people), the two-room apartment (approx. 32 sq.mt, max 3 people) and the two-room on two floors apartment (approx. 50 sq. mt, max 5 people). They are all tastefully decorated with kitchen/living-room area, bedrooms with double beds, single beds and sofa-beds; there is air-conditioning in all rooms, satellite tv. The kitchen is well-equipped with all accessories (dishes, glasses, cups, cookware, coffee maker etc.) for cooking there is a stove with 2-4 burners, refrigerator (stove and freezer in the bigger apartments); bathroom with shower, bidet, and WC, balconies and private, stone-patio gardens with garden furniture, a barbecue is also available upon request.
For all clients at the Borgo:
A suggestive swimming pool immersed in Mediterranean nature with a vast solarium (dimensions 6.5x12, 1.25/2.40 deep), open from May to October from 9am to 10pm.
Upon request: breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in our charming, panoramic restaurant. Guests can also chose our half-board or full-board option.
Parking is free on the property.
There is a common area with fireplace, reading corner with guides and books (in English) on the area, and a TV. There are also many outdoor areas for reading and relaxing. There is a small recreational area for children, and an area to play bocce. There is also a stone barbecue.
At the Borgo we have native English speakers and French is also spoken.
Small pets are also welcome.
There are no extra costs for water consumption, gas, air conditioning, heat, use of swimming pool, parking, and all other activities that are on the property of the Bprgo (library use, archery, park, and more)
Bathroom linens are provided by the Borgo and are changed every three days at no extra cost.
Bed linens are also provided by the Borgo and are changed weekly at no extra cost.
We offer airport transfers upon request.

The location of the Borgo is a perfect base for visiting other parts of Sicily on half-day excursions and full-day excursions or to just spend the day relaxing on some of the most beautiful beaches of the Tyrrhenian Coast.
Half- day excursions:
Tindari (archeological site), Villa Romana di Patti (Ruins of a Roman Villa with mosaics) and the old medieval center of Patti, The Nature Reserve of Monti Nebrodi; Santo Stefano di Camastra (famous for its beautiful ceramics) and Cefalù; Milazzo and Capo Milazzo; Gioiosa Vecchia (Old Gioiosa); charming interior towns in the Nebrodi Mountains (Piraino, Sant’Angelo di Brolo, Montalbano Elicona, San Marco d’Alunzio, Galati Mamertino and Messina.
Day-long excursions:
Taormina, Palermo and Monreale; Cefalù, Castelbuono and the Madonie mountain towns; Mount Etna (largest active volcano in Europe); Gole Alcantara (canyon and river), the Aeolian Islands and Reggio Calabria.
The geographic location of the residence “Borgo San Francesco” allows you to visit many other interesting, historical, artistic, cultural and natural sites all within a short distance.
It is this enviable location that makes it convenient to see many of these sites in a half or full-day excursion. Available at the reception office is all the information you need to make these small trips (maps, brochures, directions and info on places to see), as well as a calendar of local events and feasts.
