The Fattoria del Cerretino Farmhouse is in one of the most beautiful and greenest areas of Umbria, confining with Tuscany: the Upper Tiber Valley.
It stands on a 330m hill from which you can enjoy a fascinating view on the Valtiberina valley, it is an ideal place for those who love the countryside peacefulness and the exuberant beauty of nature however wishing, in the same time, to easily move in the surrounding places for interesting excursions, discovering these two wonderful regions. The surrounding gentle hills and valley are full of small medieval villages, where life still runs with its own relations and rhythms, of castles, abbeys and humble country churches hiding true arts treasures unknown to the mass tourism. In a very short time, the most beautiful and known Umbrian and Tuscan cities can be reached (Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Todi, Città di Castello, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Cortona, Arezzo, etc.) which are the absolute protagonists of our Country art history, religious and cultural life. Because of the silence, peace, familiar warm-heartedness, hospitality, genuineness, the respect for nature and tradition, the holiday at the Fattoria del Cerretino farmhouse is ideal for those who wish to enjoy this land wonders, peacefulness and wellness.

...Notes and Curiosity

The three houses constituting the Farmhouse are Umbria typical rural buildings dating back to the XIX Century, once used as houses and farming annexes of the farmers who were living there.

It has been owned by Giannelli family since the ‘40s, they have been restored during the middle of the ‘90s in the full respect of the surrounding environment and Umbria architectonic tradition, obtaining seven apartments and three bedrooms. The beam ceilings, terracotta-tiled floors, restored furniture, stone walls, the fire-places which, whenever possible, have been recovered, offer our guest the emotion of a dip into the past without renouncing to the today comforts, which are able to make a countryside holiday very pleasant too.

Every apartment has different features meeting very well the different needs. All of them are independent, including autonomous heating, kitchen with electric oven, gas cookers, fridge, kitchenware, bathrooms with shower and bed linen, towels and table linen.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

Check-in: from 14.00hrs to 20.00hrs (please inform in case of delay)
Check-out : within 10.30hrs (any requests for later check-out to be agreed with the management).

RESERVATIONS:

To confirm the booking it is necessary to pay an advanced deposit of 30% on the whole stay cost by bank transfer or postal order.
Our confirmation will be sent by e-mail or facsimile.
In case of booking cancellation less than 10 days prior to arrival date the deposit will not be refunded.

In case of anticipated departure, it will be charged the total cost of the stay.

For the balance payment cash, cheques, main credit cards are accepted.

OPEN AIR ACTIVITIES The Farmhouse buildings are surrounded by green areas with many relax zones where your children or your four-legged friends can play. To enjoy the open air life there is a ping-pong table and a bowling green. The surrounding places offer nice walks or mountain-bike rides (available for free) discovering castles, monasteries, old parish churches spread around the valley. It is possible to practice naturalistic observation activities (leaf peeping – and animal watching) and in Autumn you can go and find mushrooms and chestnuts. There are many marked naturalistic paths for trekking lovers (maps and the necessary documentation is supplied upon request). At 700m from the farmhouse there is a sports centre with football and five-a-side field, tennis and volley court, bowling green and kinder garden that can be used for free. CONVIVIAL ROOM There is a big room above the Inn, with a fireplace and a corner dedicated to children games, here the guests can meet during their spare time. There are paying cards and parlour games. The room is ideal for meetings too. SPORT FISHING AND ROWING For sport fishing lovers there is a small artificial lake, very close to the Farmhouse, with some sweet water fish varieties, and during summer it supplies the watering. At few kilometres from the Farmhouse, along the Tiber left edge, there is a fishing competition place where they play also international championships. Always on the Tiber edges, near Umbertide, during the last years it has been created a very beautiful fluvial park, ideal for walking in a unique naturalistic landscape. For kayak or canoe lovers there are different slipways. The “Canoa Club” in Città di Castello offers lessons and the necessary equipment can be hired. HORSE RIDING At 4 kilometres from the Farmhouse there is a riding school where they hire horses for riding and for excursions or you can take lessons with C.O.N.I – F.I.S.E. licensed instructors (Centro Ippico San Pietro). CUISINE COURSES AND FARM TOURS We organize guided tours in the Farmhouse and cuisine courses (for 6/8 persons minimum) to learn the secrets of Umbria cuisine. The guests will follow the preparation of the dishes offered in the Inn and practise it with the assistance of the chefs. - One day course: (€ 70 per person) preparation of home-made pastas and filled pastas. - Two days course: (€ 130 per person) preparation of home-made pastas, roast meats and baked potatoes, cast-iron baking tray cooked cakes. The price is dinner included. GOLF For those who play Golf there are many alternatives near the farmhouse: - Circolo Golf & Country Club Caldese (6 holes) – Lerchi (PG). - Antognolla Golf & Country Club (18 holes) – S. Giovanni del Pantano (PG). - Circolo Golf Perugia (18 holes)- Ellera di Corciano (PG). BATHS For those who are looking for a healthy and body care holiday, there is a renowned spa in Città di Castello with sulphurous waters and mud known since the Roman age. (Terme di Fontecchio).

Motorway A1 direction Rome, exit Arezzo, follow the indications to Sansepolcro/Città di Castello, new stratch of the highway E78, exit Le Ville, continue driving until having reached Sansepolcro or Città di Castello, take the highway E45 direction Perugia/Rome, exit Città di Castello Sud, direction Trestina, follow the indications for Calzolaro.
Before arriving at Calzolaro turn left at via Colonnata; the Farmhouse is at 500m from the main road.

from Milan – Bologna:
Motorway A14 direction Bologna/Ancona, exit Cesena Nord, highway E45 direction Perugia/Rome, exit Città di Castello Sud, direction Trestina, follow the indications for Calzolaro.

BY TRAIN

From Rome or Florence to Perugia-Ponte San Giovanni by train with Ferrovie dello Stato (FS – www.trenitalia.it ), then change and take the Ferrovia Centrale Umbra trains (FCU – www.fcu.it ) Terni-Sansepolcro line north direction. Get off at Trestina station. The farmhouse is at about 2km.
