Farm Holiday Podere Rottigliana

The farm is situated in a peaceful and uncontaminated ambiance,amidst oaks and chestnuts in the Lunigiana, land of the 100 castles, in Northern Tuscany. At 350 m.above sea level, on the borders of Emilia-Romagna and Liguria, mountains and sea are easily accessible, being only 2 kms from the motor-way at Pontremoli. The farm is made up of a group of finely restored houses, respecting local architectural traditions, where 2,4 or a maximum of 6 people may stay in each apartment. The farm’s main produce is wine,olive oil and it also breeds sheeps. It is an ideal spot to relax, yet not far from the sea, such as Versilia and the Cinque Terre and numerous cities of art. You may also enjoy in the vicinity : horse-riding, tennis and other recreational activities, such as fishing, canoeing, trekking through the nearby Appenninies. The farm also offers mountain bikes,swimming pool and enchanting walks through the surrounding countryside.Cultural events are: the Bancarella Price, the Bancarelvino, the Ethnographic Museum of Lunigiana, the Stele Statue’s Museum, the Archaelogical excavations in Luni and guided visits to Medieval Castles.

The area offers many leisure activities in the open air: trekking through woods or on the Appenninies,on foot or by bike; fly fishing on the river magra, English or american horse-riding is in specialized centres, also for children. In the surroundings are possible 4-wheel drive excursion, guided visits to the Cinque terre, to hidden treasures of the Lunigiana and to the magnificent cities of art may be organized.

From the beginning of spring an throughout the summer village festivals are held, as are medieval tournaments and their history relived. Not to be missed are the cultural events of the Bancarella price of Pontremoli, the wine festival of Mulazzo, or Music World of Fivizzano. For those who prefer museums, there are numerous castles in Lunigiana which host precious collections of human decent, such as the Ethnographic Museum, the Stele Statue Museum and the archeological excavations of Luni. The breathtaking seascape of the Cinque Terre is but 30 minutes away, as is the fun of Versilia, the marble quarries of Carrara and the antique markets of Sarzana.
