Farm Holiday La Carbonaia

Accommodation is provided in the restaured farm houses respecting the original structure and using traditional materials. Furniture is simple and confortable, in perfect Tuscan style; stone floors and beam cellars. From each house tourists can enjoy a wonderful view over the surrounding valley.

In the estate you find two pools (26.04.-11.10./2008), the bigger one (15mx7,5m depht 1-2,20m) with a large solarium in brick furnished with sunlougers, sunshades, deckchairs and external shower is placed in a gentle slope facing the valley in a sunny position,the smaller one (8,50X4,50) is near Casa Carbonaia and is of exclusively use of ths house’s guests.
Each house has parking places on the air.

...Notes and Curiosity

The farm extends over a vast area of about 30 hectares and is composed by woods, grass-lands, fruit and olive-trees (about 1200) eight hectares of sowable land and Senese race pigs in semi-wild state.

The farm is completely run and organized by Alessandro, the owner. Alessandro by himself, takes care of plants and trees, feeds the pigs and above all pays great attention to satisfying his guests.
Those guests who will spend their holidays at Carbonaia in autumn will have the amusing opportunity of seeing the picking of olives.

All Carbonaia ‘s guests will have anyway the opportunity of tasting and buying extra virgin olive oil produced by the farm,Tuscan wines,and cold cuts obtained from Senese race the pigs bred in the farm.

To remember it is the local fauna(wild boars,foxes,fallow deer,squirrels) that with some luck can be met during your walks on the estate.

For those who travel by car we suggest the following roads:
- Driving from motorway A1 Milano-Roma:get out exit Firenze-Scandicci and get connection with highway FI-PI-LI (Pisa direction) exit Pontedera, follow the sign boards indicating Volterra-Forcoli, then take the crossing to Palaia, drive on the road for about 5 km, on the right side you will find the sign “Carbonaia”,come on to the cart-track and after about 1,5 km you will reach Carbonaia holiday resort.
- Driving from motorway A12 Genova-Livorno exit Pisa centro aeroporto(airport) and get connection with highway FI-PI-LI (Firenze direction) exit Pontedera , follow the sign boards Volterra-Forcoli, then crossing to Palaia, drive on the road for about 5 km, on the right side you will find “Carbonaia”,come on to the cart-track and after about 1,5 km you will reach Carbonaia holiday resort.
