Farm Holiday Al Lago Verde

Lago Verde was once a simple healthy farmland which has now been transformed into a comfortable lodging. Surrounded by green pasture and beautiful countryside, this recently constructed place makes use of local stone, wood, old style ceramics, and wrought iron to hark back to the old times.The small town of Alia, a typical picturesque countryside village with earth colours and narrow winding streets, can be admired from the large terraces of Lago Verde.
Situated between three main centres -Palermo, Agrigento and Cefalu – Lago Verde is ideal as a base to discover the many faces of the Palermitan province. Although little known these past cultures are certainly no less fascinating. The contrasting scenaries stretch from the Cefalu seaside, the hills of the Madonnie and the feudal castles standing testimony to the history of our interland.
Our rooms are furnished in the Sicilian styles, with a high degree of comfort including air-conditioning, heating, TV, hair dryers and internet.
Waking up to the sound of birds singing and the delicious breakfast, often set out on the terraces overlooking that beautiful panorama, is the start to wonderful days. The morning biscuits and croissants cooked in our wood ovens fill the air with inviting smells.
Our small farmstead, situated in the midst of the relaxing and panoramic Sicilian hinterland, once survived on the cultivation of fruit, grapes and vegetables. It has now been restructured into 6 sleeping quarters and a splendid local stone kitchen. It is in this kitchen that breakfast is served. Everything that the abundant breakfast consists of is made freshly on site, using genuine and fresh produce. It is meant to provide an insight into the old traditional Sicilian farm breakfasts.

...How to reach us

Getting to Lago Verde by car is easy. If coming from the capital Palermo, one needs to take the Palermo-Agrigento freeway and then take the “Enna” exit, following the signs to Roccapalumba-Alia. If coming from Catania, simply take the autostrada to Palermo, the “Resuttano” exit and then follow the SS121. If coming from Messina, take the Messina-Palermo autostrada, exit at “Buonfornello” and follow the SS113 to Cerda. From there follow the signs to Alia.
