Our farm lies in the beautiful and fascinating hills surrounding Volterra. All around is deep green in spring, golden in summer and with many shades of brown in autumn and winter. There is so much to discover here -
Volterra with 3000 years of history, from the Etruscans to the Romans through the Middle Ages up to modern times is still a lively town in the heart of Tuscany.
You can go walking, cycling or riding, but also simply relax or visit famous towns nearby, such as San Gimignano (15 km), Siena (40 km), Pisa (60 km), or Florence (70 km).

Our farm offers simple but comfortable hospitality in cosy and carefully restored rooms and flats in a genuine country atmosphere.

Of primary importance is that we farm our land with biological methods – the basis for slow food. Our Agriturismo Biologico Bellaria, meaning Organic Farm Good Air, is named after the winds especially from the nearby Mediterranean sea.

We offer apartments with independent entry, rooms with bathroom, independent heating, private garden, barbecue, and TV. These keep the names of their former function, such as:

- CANTINA (Cellar): Room + Bathroom + Kitchen.
- TRINCIATOIO (Cutting room): Room with Bathroom.
- GRANAIO (Granary): Room + Bathroom + Kitchen.
- MANGIATOIA (Crib): Room with Bathroomr.

All the apartments and rooms can be independent or put together!

We will be happy to let you taste our typically local products, of course obtained with biological methods, like olive oil, wine, vedgetables and special chicken, as well as lamb of the famous sheep “la Pomarancina“

...Notes and Curiosity

On this picture you can see Luigi, the owner. He is very keen on breeding a sheep called "Pecora pomarancina", meaning " sheep from Pomarance", a village near Volterra. This is a local breedof about only 1200 animals (similar to the sheep from the Apennines).
This breed was introduced into our area about a hundred years ago (between Pomarance, Montecatini Val di Cecina, the hills around Volterra and towards the Province of Siena), mainly for the production of meat, but also low fat milk and wool for materasses.

Arrival from Bologna - Florence:
Exit from the highway in Florence, “FIRENZE CERTOSA” and take the four lane road to Siena.Exit at “COLLE VAL D'ELSA” and drive towards Volterra (but you will not go as far as Volterra!).Go ahead on this main road until you reach the small village of RONCOLLA. Turn right following the indication to PISA and PONTEDERA.After about 4 km turn right following the indication to COZZANO and SENSANO. You will also find an indication saying “Agriturismo Biologico Bellaria”: follow it.You will cross a small bridge, and shortly after you will turn left and cross another small bridge.This country road will take you uphill; go ahead for about 4 km until you reach us on the left.

Arrival from Genoa - La Spezia:
Leave the highway at the exit “PISA AEROPORTO” and go onto the so-called “S.G.C. FI-PI-LI” a four lane road, direction Florence.Leave this road at the exit “PONTEDERA-PONSACCO” and drive on to Capannoli and Volterra . Keep on this road following the indication for Volterra.Some kilometres after the small village of “La Sterza” turn left, direction Volterra. At the small village of “MOLINO D'ERA”, where you will see a petrol station on your left and a restaurant, do not follow on to Volterra anymore, but stay on the road where you are, following the indication for “COLLE VAL D'ELSA”. You will cross a bridge. The main road turns right after about 2 km. You must leave the main road following the indication for “COZZANO”, driving now on a secondary road.Go ahead for about 2 km when you reach a country road. After another drive of about 3 km you arrive at our farmhouse on the left. Drive up on the small private road.

Arrival from Rome - Siena:
Leave the highway at the exit “VAL DI CHIANA” and drive on towards Siena.In Siena, take the highway to Florence.Exit at “COLLE VAL D'ELSA” and drive towards Volterra (but you will not go as far as Volterra!).Go ahead on this main road until you reach the small village of RONCOLLA. Turn right following the indication to PISA and PONTEDERA.After about 4 km turn right following the indication to COZZANO and SENSANO.
